THE FACTS: More than 1 in 7 women who give birth will experience a Postpartum Mood Crisis. The majority of those women will have nowhere to go to receive consistent, loving and compassionate support.
THE STORY: In 2013, following the birth of my son, and with no history of depression or anxiety, I was blindsided by Postpartum Mood Complications. Slowly, I discovered there was little to no education or resources on Cape Cod for moms experiencing what is such a common issue. I learned firsthand how devastating the illness can be, and how long the illness can persist when it is forced to live isolated in the shadows.

I experienced profound healing by seeking out moms (via online support groups) that had experienced the disease and through integrative healing therapies that brought me peace and helped to heal my mind, body and spirit. It is my belief that no mother should have to suffer for as long I did with an illness that is highly treatable.
THE VISION: HEAL LIKE A MOTHER will provide consistent mom-to-mom group support in a cozy, compassionate environment while offering access to complimentary or affordable integrative healing therapies such as acupuncture, energy work, massage therapy, yoga, meditation, nutrition and art therapy.
DISCLAIMER: Heal Like A Mother offers peer support groups. This support group is not a substitute for medical treatment, psychological counseling and/or other treatment for emotional or physical problems you are having.
